Here's Emelyn, my youngest grandaughter this past spring in a cute little knitted strawberry hat that her Aunt Heather had just given her. It also came with a matching outfit but we just popped the hat on so we could take some pictures of her in it. She is so cute, but she is definately a more sober baby. She studies everything carefully before she warms up to it.

Wacky Weather

This is a shot out my kitchen window. Doesn't that look cold?

I went to visit my youngest daughter last evening. She only lives 20 miles away, but what a difference in temperature. I left her house at 8:30 and the temp there was -5. Brrrrr Anyway, as we made the trip home the temp kept climbing and dropping as we traveled up and down the grades in the road. Upon reaching home, I again checked the temperature and it was +9 degrees. That is 14 degrees within a 20 mile distance, which is probably less than 15 miles, as the crow flies. When I got up this morning it was 0. I am ready for spring, or at least spring like temps. Again Brrrrrr!!!

Another layout from my grandaughters fishing event. She's pretty much a girly girl, but loves animals, all animals. She was pretty intent on watching her dad put the worm on the hook, but I really doubt she'd ever do it herself.

I'm actually surprised that she allowed the worm to be so cruely treated. She has such a tender heart for any creature.

A Gift Mini Baby Book

I decided to make a 52 week gift book for my youngest daughter before her baby was born. I split it into two books because I could never have bound 1 book with my bind-it-all. I probably should have split it into 3 books. Anyway, I gave her the first half when the baby was born, but just finished the second half. Bad Nana. But one of my new years resolutions was to finish all those unfinished scapppy projects, so I have now completed one. YEAH!

The front cover is acrylic, and the back is chipboard. So without further ado, here are all the photos. The very last one shows the book finally bound and open showing both the front and back covers.

Today is Christmas in my Family

Today my family is celebrating Christmas. All the kids are grown, and everyone is pulled in so many directions, that we have delayed our celebration so it isn't so rushed. Since I had a big crowd in for Christmas Day, my eldest daughter is hosting Christmas today.

It's always so much fun to gather the whole family together, and I am so grateful that we are all close enough in distance to do it regularly. I am truely blessed.

Now, I am off to prepare my contributions to dinner, and wrap a last gift. I hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Lord's day.

It was getting towards the end of the cousins play day, and the little ones were getting pretty tired. I took this photo of two of them rubbing their eyes. I thought it was so cute.

I punched the border and filled the center of every flower with a Doodlebug brad. I love my paper piercer, I think it is definately one of my 'couldn't live without' tools.

The flower cluster from Prima actually came that way. It's mounted on Chipboard, and I was wondering what I would ever do with it, but this was perfect. I did rob a few flowers from it once before tho.

Happy, Happy New Year Everyone!

Wow, 2010 came so fast. I was planning to spend this whole day at home in my jammies scrapping to my hearts conten, but alas, plans have changed. My sisters and I are having a get together to discuss what steps need to be taken in my mom's care. She still lives alone, but her dymensia is getting worse, and we need to do something. It is so hard to make decisions that may be upsetting to a parent. After the meeting I will be going to the funeral home for visitation. My sister-in-law passed away after a struggle with cancer. Sad, but she is no longer in pain.

This my first layout of 2010, and I'm really going to try to post regularly this coming year. It's a layout of 2 of my grandaughters at a cousins play day this past march. The baby was 3 months old. She is now walking up a storm. They grow up entirely too fast.

I hope this coming year is a happy, healthy, and creative year for each and every one of you.

Purse Album

Here is a little purse album that I made this week. I used one of the My Minds Eye lines, which I live. I started out with 2 envelopes and this is the end result. Besides the MME papers and accessories, I used some May Arts ribbon, We R Memory Keepers gromets, a vintage button, pop dots, Creative Workshops templates, a piece of velcro, and an element from a digital kit that I got over at sweetshoppedesigns. I believe the buckle rings are Lil Davis.

I have more Halloween layouts to do, but wanted to scrap this photo because this layout just popped into my head, and I didn't want to forget it. I just thought it would look great beneath this wonderful Pink Paislee blossom tree.

I stickled the center of all the blossoms too, and although you probably can't see it here, it gave it a wonderful glitter look.

This my grandaughter way back in 2004 at Easter time. She went to an Easter egg hunt and this very cool, and huge, bunny was there to visit with the kiddos. She loved it. Afterwards she spent some time blowing bubbles and flying kites. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year.

This was the first ribbon Hailie won, ever, for showing horses, and although she was trying to be brave, she wanted to cry. Being the girly girl that she is, she wanted the pink one. She could have cared less about 1st, 2nd, etc. She wanted pink.

After the color coding was explained, she was fine, but she would still have preferred all pink ribbons.

This is a layout that I did awhile ago of my grandaughter playing dress up. That seemed to be her favorite pastime up until recently when horses became her passion.

I do believe she could have rivaled Amelda Marcos for shoe collections. I remember when they were packing to move (she was 2 at the time). She got her suitcase, dragged it into her room, loaded up all her shoes, and announced that she was ready to go.

Although she doesn't dress up anymore, she still love shoes and purses. Oh, and bling. Notice the crown.

First Quilt

These are two pages I did awhile ago. I was the only quilter in my family for many years. My baby sister took up the hobby a couple of years ago, and this past year I taught my grandaughter some of the basics. This was her first attempt. She didn't want to wait till I brought a hoop, so she just worked on the top of the table and made a quilt for her dolls. It was neat to see her work diligently on that quilt. The stitches were long and uneven, but so were my first ones. I believe I was 12 when I made my first quilt. She is 9.

I used Imagination Project grid paper and I believe the patterned paper is Cherry Arte. I also used Doodlebug trims, a Fiskars punch, and Prima chipboard alphas.

Looking for Cats

Three of my grandchildren out in my sister's garage looking for her elusive cats. They all love animals, but the cats like privacy. The cats were much better hiders than the kids were finders. But they had fun trying.

2nd Cousins

This is my niece and my second youngest grandaughter. I'm so glad we have a close family where everyone knows everyone, and we all live close enough to visit often and gather for all the holidays.

My grandaughter was pretty little, and while we carved pumpkins, she prefered to blow bubbles. She did, however, take a break to check out the inside of the pumpkin. She looked inside, scooped a bit, and put a seed in her mouth. I guess at at that age, everything goes in the mouth.

Mr Snowman

This layout is my grandaughter and her friend building a snowman. They even added a scarf similar to the ones that they were wearing.

I used Crate Paper and Prima papers, a Prima journal card, Creative Imaginatins alpha stickers, a Melissa Francis sticker, a Fancy Pants die cut, Making Memories snowflakes and jewels, a Basic Grey chipboard snowman, Ranger crackle paint, Tsukenieko ink, Stickles, and May Arts ribbon.

To make the snowman, I generously painted his body and hat and mittens with crackle paint, leaving the buttons, eyes and nose uncovered. Then I set them aside and let them dry and crackle. Next I brushed over them with Tsukenieko brown ink, and colored his arms with an AC brown slick writer. I filled his buttons and eyes with a big glob of black stickles and his nose with orange stickles. To finish, I tied a piece of silk May Arts ribbon around his neck.

This is a layout of my dog Cassie, after I hosted Christmas Day at my house. She was always so shy and timid, and would hide when there was too much commotion. These pictures are of her coming out of hiding, after mostly everyone had gone, looking at me as if to ask, "are they gone yet."

She loved people, as all goldens do, but she liked them in small doses. I guess we live a pretty quiet life, and she likes it that way.

This is a layout of my grandaughter at the beach when she was small. Her daddy was in the water, so she decided to go in too. But when she caught of that little wave rolling in, she ran in terror. She was much happier to build sandcastles and play on the beach.

Hailie loves Eyore. You will notice a small Eyore in her hands, which they bought, and the larger Eyore, which they just admired, and left behind. This picture was taken a big toy store in NYC over Thanksgiving.

My daughters indoor cat and dog up to no good. Foxy, the dog clawed until she had a hole big enough to fit thru, then the two of them just sat there looking out. Pearl, the cat, does NOT like to be outside, and Foxy prefers to be inside 99% of the time. I'm not quite sure why they did this, but I had to get a photo.

During a heavy snowfall last winter I went out to take pictures. I think falling snow is so beautiful and peaceful. Anyway, I snapped away until my lens was so wet I couldn't see anymore. I really liked the shot of the rail fence, and I love these papers.

My dad bought this old plymouth car when I was in high school so that he could drive it in the local parades. He was so tickled with this car. We all thought it was cool because the doors opened like the one Bonnie and Clyde had.

This is layout of my youngest grandaughter and I. My daughter stopped to see me at work one day, and I just happened to have my camera, so I got a couple of shots with me and the baby. She is just under 3 months old here.

She is the cutest baby, and of course I am not biased at all.

After we were done swimming at the pool, Morgan spied the swings and wanted to go 'winging'.

It didn't matter how fast or high. She loved it, but I kept it at a moderate pace, just to avoid an upset stomach on the ride home.

On the third day that the girls stayed with me, we went to the pool, and then they played on the slide and swings outside the pool area till they were chilled, even tho they didn't want to leave.

This is another Christmas 2008 layout. One of the older girls received this handmade oak bunkbed for their dolls, but Morgan decided to put her baby to sleep in it. She used her uncles Pgh Steelers terrible towels to cover it up, then she crawled in to give it a kiss. She is so cute. Two is a great age.

This layout doesn't really have a title, but the photos were taken at Christmas 2008, so I will call it that. This was the end of the day, and the baby had had enough of presents, and refused to open one more, so her big sister opened it for her, and then her other sister happily spent some time playing with her little sisters new toy. These kids just don't seem to fight and squabble much.

I used Melissa Francis, Fancy Pants, and Making Memories and Coordinations paper. I also used a Making Memories journaling spot and some Basic Grey chipboard. I did some doodling here and there too.

I finally got some time to scrap last night. These are 2 pages from the Christmas of 2008. My little grandaughter loves bald babies, so when she opened the package with the bald baby she was so excited, and wanted it out of the box right away. Her older brother offered to help, and she sat there so patiently, waiting for it to be free. Every once in awhile she would tilt the box up to make sure the doll was still there while he untwisted all those wire twisties that were holding it in.

For this layout, I used Bo Bunny, Fancy Pants, Making Memories and Prima papers, a Fiskars punch, AC thickers and a slick writer.

I am working on a mini album. It started out to be about my first home, but ended up being a book of my collections. I have always loved all things vintage including antiques, linens, colors, homes. I just love historic vacation spots too.

Anyway, this is the cover for the book I am working on. I will be using my bind it all to put it together when I am all done. I will try to post a couple of pages every day.

On this cover I used mostly all Basic Grey pheripherie and wisteria. I just love both of those lines. I also used the edge of a Making Memories die cut paper, a couple of colors of stickles, a slick writer, ink, and pop dots.

Matt and the Girls

This is my son Matt and his little girls. I never thought he would be a good daddy, but he is, and they just love him. It's funny because they call him Matt rather than Daddy, but he doesn't seem to mind.

I used the new Basic Grey Wisteria line for both of these layouts. I just love the colors, and I think this font is one of my very favorites, and I find myself hoarding sheets of it.

This is one of the squirrels that came to my bird feeder every day. He would burrow under the snow and pop his head up every once in awhile until he had worked his way over to the feeder. Then he would either eat the seeds scattered in the snow, or he would climb up to the feeder and eat there. I had a squirrel guard on the post, but he went around it, or would climb the peach tree and jump from the branches to the feeded. I just couldn't keep him out of it.

My grandaughter, like so many little girls, loves horses, and really wants one. Her parents took her to see this miniature pony when she was not quite 3 years old, and it was just her size.

I used Kaiser Craft papers. I love so many of their papers, especially their vintage looking lines. I also used My Minds Eye rub on letters, the Fiskars apron lace border punch, a digi journaling block and an AC slick writer to journal and doodle.

This past winter I decided to feed and watch the birds. The former owners had installed a really nice feeder just outside my kitchen window, and I was pleased to see the variety that came to my feeder every day. The very first photo I took was the cardinal about to land on the suet cage. I've read that cardinals don't eat suet, but he did that day. I never saw them near it again. They were, however, daily visitors to the feeder containing black sunflower seeds.

I used a Basic Grey mixed album, AC and Making Memories rub ons, SEI sticker letters, and papers from my scrap box.

Here are two that I finished late last night. This is Hailie, my closest grandchild. That is in distance, she lives 5 blocks away. I have a lot of pictures of her, so you will see her often. She loves to dress up, and always seems to have her little dog in tow. She is a real sweetheart, and has personality to spare.

For these layouts I used MME Wild Asparagus, Fancy pants, Prims and Making Memories patterned paper. I used Prima Chipboard alphas, AC thickers, and Making Memories Rub on alphas. I also used prima flowers, leaves, jewels, butterfly, and chipboard along with some Kaiser Craft jewels and a My Little Yellow Bicycle overlay frame. Oh, I also used a Martha Stewart punch, and a Maya Road chipboard swirl that I painted and glittered with Doodlebug glitter.

I generally always do 2-pg spreads. I just like that look. Anyway, this is one that I made to go with another one I did recently.

For this layout I used Scribble Scrabble and Imaginese patterned papers, KI lace paper, Fancy Pants and MME die cuts, AC thickers, Making Memories Rub on alphas, a slick writer, Tsukineko ink, and a pair of my old deco edge scissors to make the photo corners.

I also used these cool old tin snowflakes with thick vintage looking paint on them. They came from a garland I had around the house. I love using old finding, lace and other bits and pieces.

I thought I would add an about me page to my new blog so you could see who "I am".

I used Crate Paper and Dream Street papers, Maya Road chipboard, prima flowers, a fiskars border punch, Tim Holtz paint dabber, Tsukineko ink and embossing powder a slick writer and a uni-b all signo white gel pen.

I painted the chipboard with the Tim Holtz butterscotch paint dauber, covered it with the clear embossing powder, heated it till it melted, and then edged it with the gel pen.
